"Sintullokotoba" translates to "Supernatural Snake Jar" The rattlesnake is a sybol of strength and is revered as a powerful supernatural being, although the rattlesnake can be rather aggressive, it is very rare one is will strike before warning you with its rattle. Some say that only a possessed rattlesnake will srike without warning. They protect the cornfields from rodents and theives trying to take the hard work. So when the corn, potatoes, beef jerkey, or other dry goods are placed in a jar such as this, the rattlesnake will keep anything in the jar protected from pests during storage. The paint has been applied onto a burnished slip in a manner in which feels scaly. Down by the creeks and rivers of Oklahoma, rattlesnakes look green due to the grassy green area. This jar has a rare mineral paint that actually fires to this same green color. There is green, white, black, yellow, red, and orange pigments all involved in this 6 color polychrome. Made by Choctw Artist Parnell Wayne McDaugale, this jar has strength,... it actually dropped during the filming of a video and did not recieve any noticable damage. It was loaded with pinon nuts at the time. While we were filming we had no other containers to put pinon into and there were a plethora of natural pine nuts that we could not resist.
